What could be wrong with my house plant?

I have a house plant that has long leaves. Lately, some of the leaves have started getting brown and dying, starting at the tips and moving towards the stem. At first I thought it was just one leaf that got scorched by the sun, but now it appears to be a bigger problem. The plant has always appeared to be doing just fine under its current watering and light conditions (I've had the plant for about two and a half years). Any suggestions?

Most likely your plant overgrew its pot. If this is the case, slightly trim the roots or move it to a bit larger pot. While you are transplanting please check if there are some bugs in the old soil. If yes, wash the roots well prior to transplanting to a fresh soil. Good Luck!
Reply:Aparently , read up on the net about your type plant. I would actually say too much direct sunlight or too much water. This happened with my plant , but I saved it, because I don't know how i did , but it didn't die.
Reply:Sounds like your plant is lacking something, I would suggest giving the plant some liquid fertilizer.
Reply:You may have to transplant your plant in a larger container. If you do get some fresh potting soil and take some of the old soil out. Look under the leaves and see if their any beetles or aphids then go to a nursery with 1 or 2 leaves and they can tell you what to do with your plant. Good Luck! I am a plant lover too!
Reply:Plant food in the water, proper fertile soil in the pot.

If the plant is seasonal (even if indoor) you may need to change the way you treat it and how much sunlight it gets for the season.
Reply:sounds like a fungus, is the humidity high at the moment.

Spray with a fungicide
