Do having plants in your home, keep the house cooler?

Houseplants provide some cooling, in that the humidity required to keep them may help you feel cooler. They also filter and cleaning the air.

In addition, houseplants provide a psychological benefit to humans! Palms will take you a tropical island and ferns to the lush forest. The colors are soothing and calming. If you have a plant that flowers, you will find additional delight.

Most of us spend far too few hours in touch with nature and bringing plant life indoors can boost our moods tremendously.

Here are a few interesting sites on the benefits of plants:

Reply:I think having greenery in the house makes it seem cooler, but I'm not sure there's an actual difference in temperature -- unless, of course, you have them in front of a window and they block some of the sunlight from getting in. Some houseplants (such as spider plants) can filter impurities from the air, and they help keep the air humidified.
