Those are fungus gnats. While you can kill them with, for example, insecticide, it won't help much because the soil is infested with their eggs. There is a product called gnatrol that you put in the water you use for the plants that contains microbes that attack the eggs, but gnatrol is expensive, hard to find, and doesn't work well. Your problem is that your soil is infested, and there isn't much you can do about it. You could try COMPLETELY changing ALL of the soil around the roots. Or you could get rid of the house plants, which is what we ultimately had to do.
Reply:IT IS FROM TO MUCH MOISTURE, JUST TRY SPRAYING YOUR HOUSE WITH AN INDOOR BUG SPRAY AND KEEP WATERING LESS
Reply:Add 1 tbsp of Octagon soap to a gal of water, use this to water your plant. You will probably have to use it for a month to get all generations of eggs
Reply:water the plants with vinegar and water.. it will kill the little nasties.
Reply:spray Raid house and garden on the plant and put it in a large garbage bag and tie it up leave in their for 10 hours or so. It will kill the flies and not hurt the plant.
