fabulous! Starting plants from seeds isn't the easiest thing to do and can be rather discouraging if the seeds don't grow. Try starting with small plants - something you can learn from. The easiest plant I know of is the "Mother-in-Law's Tongue" plant. It doesn't require much attention at all; low to medium light and needs very little watering. If you can get it to grow and thrive for 6 months or more, move on to another easy-to-care-for plant.

Pay attention to the needs of the plant you buy: light, warmth and watering needs are vital to healthy growth but if any plant isn't given what it needs, in the proper doses (or very near the proper doses - like over-watering or letting the plants roots stand in water too long), it can kill a plant before you know what happened.

Be patient and learn from your plant(s).
Reply:It will be trial and error at first -you need to find out what types of plants you like, and what types of plants you can grow inside YOUR house.

Each house is different, each plant is different.
Reply:I'd start with small plants rather than seeds. The small plants are inexpensive. Pick out some you like and make sure the pot you get is no larger than one size up from the current size of the pot it's in if you are going to transplant it. Make sure you know the name of the plant you get, then type that name into the search engine of Yahoo. You can find out how to take care of that plant, how much to water it, what kind of light it needs, etc.

Some plants (like African violets) prefer plastic pots and need to be watered from the bottom rather than on the surface of the dirt. Other flowers, like Bromeliads are watered directly on the plant where it forms a little cup. It does no good to water the dirt. You need to get to know your plants.

Start with some easy ones to grow in your lighting conditions. For instance, the African Violets mentioned above do best in the bright light of a north window. They can't tolerate direct sun. Bromeliads need very bright light. Easy plants to grow are philodendrums and spider plants. You might want to start with something like that to build your confidence. I have good luck with violets.

Be careful about overwatering plants (I'm bad about that) or underwatering them. This time of year, most plants do well with light watering once a week. In summer they might need water twice a week. Some plants, like succulents, should only be watered when the dirt gets thoroughly dry. Watering them too much will cause them to rot. You will also want to feed your plants with an appropriate plant food about once every six weeks or so.
Reply:well first I need to know what area you live in , for outside plants.house plants are hard to care for.they get lace bugs in the winter, and fungus knats.make sure anything you buy gets plenty of eastern windows light and wash at times the leaves, with a mild soap and water, that keeps them healthy.I use palmolive dish liquid very little of it..happy growing..
Reply:Its fun growing plants in water
