plants with leaves that have a large surface area. the thing that plants do to help your house smell fresh is "exchange" the old air with new air. well, not really, but this is the idea. plants exchange air mostly through the bottom of their leaves through little openings called stomata(pl.). no plants will really make your house smell differently except for some herbs that you could grow in your house if you would like such as cilantro or peppermint.
