What type of plant is it? Some houseplants will change color depending on how much light they are getting. Wandering Jew plants can go from plain green, to vibrant purple depending on the light.
My house plants turned purple! How did this happen?
It could have happened just like that experiment.... maybe the water had colorant of some sort of tipe.... it may also be that they were always purple but started as another colored until it transformed to puple.... and last it might be a disease
Reply:Do you have kids? They probably watered it with purple water.
Reply:Do you use any water feed? Was anything sprayed on them.
Reply:Is it close to a window? If it's too cold it might change colour...
