My house indoor plants keep dying?

My indoor plants keep dying. They are definatley indoor plants, as it states for indoors. I water them once a week. One was Jasmine plant, the other is yukka plant, and i cant remeber the other plant name, but its about 1 meter, and has loads of leaves, now they all seem to be dying. I recently put them into a bigger pot and with bit more compost as the pot is bigger. I put them in the garden 1x week so it has little bit of sunshine. What am i doing wrong? please help..any good tips and advice

My house indoor plants keep dying?
On the whole, my boyfriend kills houseplants by:

1) not opening the curtains in the room they are in so they don't get enough light

2) putting them in rooms or corners of rooms where there is very little natural light, even when he does remember to open the curtains

3) underwatering or overwatering (it depends on the plant, but generally once a week with enough water to make the soil damp but not soggy seems to be about right. Don't leave them sitting in water - i.e. with water in the saucer under the pot - unless either they are bog plants and really need a load of water or you have left them to dry out so much that any water you pour on the soil goes straight through).

4) Keeping the room they are in too hot or cold, house plants generally like to be about the same temperature as people do.

Also, the person who answered you above is right, re-potting up a bigger size can be bad. There is an explanation about competing for nutrients with other plants in the wild, but I can't remember the details of it right now.

Best advice I can think of: if you have a friend locally whose houseplants are still alive, invite them round to look at your plants and ask them if they can see any reason why your plants aren't surviving.
Reply:I AM ALSO FACING THIS PROBLEM .ONE SOLUTION I CAN TELL U IS TO PLACE THE PLANT AT LEAST ONCE IN A WEEK IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND SUPPLY FERTILIZER.

THE SECOND THING IS THAT WE MUST NOT OVERWATER IT.U CAN SPRAY WATER IT.

ANOTHER PROBLEM ISTHAT I DON'T KNOW HOW FAR JASMINE IS AN INDOOR PLANT. Report Abuse
Reply:Most likely over-watering. Indoor plants especially through the colder months need very little water. I water mine about twice a month maximum. If you have just recently started taking them outside this could be to blame as well. House plants abruptly moved outdoors will shed their leaves. This is due to a drastic change in environment. To ease the transition and lessen the shock to the plants, I start by opening the windows for a week or so in the room where I have them and then go to an increasing amount of time outside. Otherwise, just expect they will look crappy for a little while due to the shock but will not die. I have also found that many plants like smaller pots. I too made the mistake of putting mine in bigger pots. Where you have them, leave them but double check prior to transplanting about whether they like big or small pots. Hope some of this helps.
Reply:it must be becouse of lack of sunshine...increase the frequency of watering twice in a day every day...add fertilisers...etc then see what is the result...
Reply:Stop watering them so much, Baby. You are drowning them !!!!!Most plants take an indirect sunlight nicely.
Reply:keep watering your plants daily
