I guess he is drawn to the soil. One idea is if you can cover the open pot area with tin foil...leaving an area you can peel back to water. That worked for me. Best of luck...
Reply:chili powder. It works wonders for not only cats but dogs too. it wont hurt the plants just sprinkle it all over the top of the soil. If that doesnt help alot of pet stores sell some spray stuff but to be quite honest they have chemicals and things in them that i wouldnt want around my plants let alone my cats and dogs.
Reply:Cover the surface with holly leaves or any prickly, non-poisonous leaves. Looks nice and will keep him off. Also check out your kitty litter, maybe there's something he doesn't like about that.
Reply:maybe hes mad at you for choppin his nuts off, but a lot cats do that, marking his territory
Reply:try putting aluminum in front the plants, cats hate the texture.
Reply:Check your cat litter, maybe it is too hard on his feet? I find the best one to use is one put out by Purina, it's small, soft and clumps really well.

To keep him out of your pots just sprinkle cracked black pepper over the soil. He'll steer clear and it has no effects on the plants.
