Why is my house plant dying?

I kept my plant inside the house most of its growing stages and had no problems. i figured it was time to give it some direct sun-light. the 1st day or two it was ok and still growing. Now the leaves appear to be browning and drooping. looks very similar to a semi-rotton banana peel. Where did I go wrong?

Why is my house plant dying?
Ewww....sounds like it got sunburned. It happens. Taking a plant from a sheltered area like your home and putting it in direct sunlight was a bit much for it, I imagine. If you want to ease a plant outdoors at least put it in partial shade. Don't worry I did this once and you are right: for the first day or two the plant looks great but then the damage begins to show.

Here is what I did: I brought the plant back indoors and trimmed off the outer leaves that were damaged. I left the ones towards the center so as not to shock the plant entirely. Then for the next 3 weeks I misted it lightly at least once a day, I also put it in the bathroom so that the steam from the shower would help it recuperate. Of course, I kept it watered but I also added some Vitamin B to the water to help w/stress. You can purchase some at your gardening center for this purpose. When your plant is definitely on the road to recovery then you can trim the other burned leaves out of the plant.

Now, this is what I did for MY plant. Please adjust this for your plant. And please do not over compensate by giving your plant too much shade now. A room with bright sunlight would be great but NOT direct sunlight and keep it away from directly in front of the windows!

Good luck!
Reply:ask them. jk. they either are having too much water or sunlight or vise versa. go ask someone at lowes or a gardening center
