What will keep my dogs from eating my house plant?

my dogs keep eating the house plant, a little palm tree, as well as a fake tree. is there anything i can spray on them that will keep the dogs away and not kill the plant? preferably something that is not really stinky to people.

First of all some house plants can be poisonous so be careful when choosing plants. I have heard bitter apple works with some dogs. I have a dog though that eats everything and just can't be left alone at any time ever. Evita
Reply:be very carefull if you have real plants of any sort with anypets or even children in thehouse - alot of common house plants are severly toxic to cats dogs %26amp; small children who may eat them- try rubbingtobasco sauce on the leaves the dog can reach they hate it -- or just put it out of reach from the dog !!
Reply:hot sauce im not sure about killing plants but it made my dog quit taking food off our plates when we went in the next room :)
Reply:sprinkle a little Chile powder on them.
Reply:bitter apple spray available at Petsmart(or was it Petco........) about 5 bucks
