What vegetable plants can I grow in my house?

I don't have a garden, but want to grow some good veg that I can eat, i'm currently growing some pepper plants (first plants i've ever grown) that are doing ok and would love to grow more stuff...and ones that need less the light the better. No boring marijuana jokes ta. (UK climate by the way)

What vegetable plants can I grow in my house?
herbs only
Reply:Radishes, watercress, parsley...

I dont agree with tomatoes - they dont grow too well in pots, they need to be in the ground with adequet drainage
Reply:Mushrooms
Reply:tomatoes x
Reply:tomatoes (get the kind made for a pot and make sure you put lots of stones in the bottom so that there is adequate drainage), any type of pepper, chives (would that be more of an herb?)...
Reply:Cherry tomatoes?
Reply:Toms are no good - they need a constant level of sunlight to do well.

Spinach might do well (try a perpetual variety), lettuce (lots of different types including cut %26amp; come again ones. Not sure how much space you have - but you could try growing potatoes in a bucket in the hall (for instance) - don't over water them but no reason they wouldn't do well inside (and away from slugs!!!)
Reply:Tomatos
Reply:I grow Red Chilly peppers, Tomatos, and Strawberrys in a strawberry planter.

Best place is a kitchin window the more sunlight the better unfortunatly, most food plants need light but with strawberrys you can hang them from a basket they grow quite well.
Reply:Most vegetables need a lot of light. You can use a regular fluorescent fixture with a regular bulb and keep it very close to the plants. This will keep them from getting leggy. I have started plants like this and they do great.

Plants that require pollination to fruit will have to be pollinated by hand with a paintbrush.

Here's some good info:
