Anyone familiar with house plants.?

I just purchased a few plants. Three snake plants. A peace lily and a Zebra plant. I know these plants may or may not get bugs. Any tips on prevention? Also I was reading that the aphids, secrete a substance that can create mold. Is this harmful to birds or are any of these plants harmful to birds?

Any additional info is greatly appreciated!

Anyone familiar with house plants.?
For the bugs:

Of the thousands of species of insects only about 25 species are harmful to house plants. A few of these insects, such as; ants, earthworms and slugs are harmless but annoying. The 'suckers' are the most destructive house plant insects. Aphids are small, soft, and light green. These house plants insects suck the sap out of plants.

A few house plant insects are merely annoying, but the 'suckers' - aphids, mealy bugs, scales and whiteflies - excrete a sticky honey dew substance which invites ants and creates a medium for the growth of mold. Peace Lily's are attacked by Ants, Earwigs, Mealy Bugs, and White Flies. Snake Plants are attacked by Scales. Zebra Plants are attacked by Ants, Aphids, Mealy Bugs, Mites, Scale, and White Flies.

As for the plants beinng toxic:

The Peace Lily is mildly toxic

Zebra plant and snake plants are nontoxic

The sticky honeydew, substance that can create mold produced by aphids and scales, is not harmful, but it can serve as a food source for the “sooty mold” fungus. Sooty mold is a black fungus that lives on the secreted honeydew, coating leaves or needles and detracting from a plant’s appearance and is harmful to birds.

Hope this covers it all.
Reply:first do not worry about bugs if the plants are going to be inside, and no birds will not be harmed aphids.
Reply:If you give these plants a wipe over occasionally with white oil, this is an emuslion made from marine stuff, this will keep aphids away and make your plants greenery nice and glossy.
