When is the best time to water the house plants, in the morning or evening?

House plants are less fussy than outdoor ones since you don't have to worry as much about mildewing or fungus from them staying wet or loss of water from them being in the sun. Just pick a convenient time. Nighttime is easier because you are not rushed getting to work as you would be in the morning.

The roots are the feet!

Using that principle sounds logical. Anything growing is alive and must have feelings.
Reply:In the evenings but if it is a hot and dry days I do it twice; It is also depend on the plants tho. If it doesn't like water, morning is better.

Watering in the evening give enough times for the roots to drink and in the morning you can see it's "growing".

Reply:Morning. They store it for the day and use it in conjunction with the sun's rays in a little card-trick called photosynthesis. Yes, even though they are inside, you still get sunlight.
Reply:It depends on how much they need it. If mine are dehydrated, I'd water in the morning, or anytime that they need it. You do loose more water via evaporation during the daytime, due to the heat, but this is usually a good thing for them.



Evening is better, as it allows it to drain into the full pot, before the daytime starts and it starts to evaporate more quickly again.



Don't worry so much, just be aware that some plants like specific watering methods. African Violets and most Orchids are my main ones, I water both of these types from the bottom, not letting the water touch the African Violets' leaves, and most of Orchids via immersion into some rain water, for a few minutes: I don't let them stand in it.



Some plants have peculiar habitats, like Bromeliads and many - not all - Orchids, which typically grow on tree branches, and so capture their water quickly. (Bromeliads in urns, formed from their leaves).
