i want to know a safe way to reduce the number of flies in our house.
How do you keep flies out of the house? are there any natural ways, plants or anything?
Keep a eucalyptus. I snip a bunch of twiglets and put them in vases by open windows. Flies and mosquitoes hate it, I haven't had any in my house since I bought the tree four years ago. Be warned though - eucalyptus can grow to 60 feet! I clip new growth out at the top about every 2 months to maintain about a 5' height and keep in it a large pot which helps contain root growth.
Reply:Be sanitary, keeep the temperature comfortable, use venus flytraps and pitcher plants, keep the doors and windows closed. You can't always completely eliminate the problem; but, you can keep it under control.
Reply:crumple a brown paper bag (lunch bag) then re-open it. Blow air into it to shape it into a circle. tie it outside by your door---flies will think it is a wasp nest and stay away. it works
