How are aphids eradicated from house plants?

The little bugs on my dying hibiscus plant resemble aphids

How are aphids eradicated from house plants?
Hi

The way I kill those little suckers is with White Oil or dish washing liquid mixed with water and put into a spray bottle. The people that I buy my plants from told me about dish washing liquid. It work great and harmless to the plant.

If you use white oil wear gloves.
Reply:Aphids cause yellowing and curling of leaves, wilt and distortion as well as stunting of new growth.

Insecticidal soap is a safe and effective way to control aphids.

You can spray with chemicals. Make sure you get under the leaves as well. You can use Malathion, Diazinon or pyrethrins.

Aphids exude a sticky substance which attracts ants as well as a black mold.
Reply:Wash your plants with Insecticidal Soap. It's great. Pour some in the soil too. It will kill any aphids hiding in the soil.
Reply:Aphids are a pain in the butt to get rid of... but it can be done. The first thing I like to do is rinse them off with a strong spray of water. If the plant is delicate I wouldn't do that. You can put the whole plant outside (if you're in a warm climate) or in your shower and rinse off well. Another thing... wipe off the little buggers with a cloth. Then... there's lots of products at your local garden center that will work. Some products are made that are OK to use indoors. The biggest thing is to make sure the bug you want to irradicate is on the label as something the product will get rid of. And... read the label! Use the product based on the recommendations, etc. There's also some homeade things like dishsoap sprays, etc that aren't technically as "chemical" based.
Reply:leave some ladybirds on your plants.they will eat the aphids %26amp; your plants will be saved...
