House Plants give out oxygen ..don't they?

So..i live in a basement suite..a well lit one. I have house plants all over my apt. My Landlord just told me i have to get rid of most of 'em because they produce carbon dioxide.. but i always thought they consume it and produce oxygen. Who's right here?

well, any plants give out oxgen for us to breathe and we give out carbon dioxide so they can breathe! but however you are the right one in this situation. so if i were you i would keep the plants! and in a nice way tell your land lord to check his/her 5th grade science book! lol! okay maybe forget telling him/her to check it! you might get kicked out!

Which means that you need houseplants in your small space to absorb the carbon dioxide that you produce and turn it into oxygenated air--which you also need.



Hope this helps. But, ask him for proof if he doesn't believe you. He can't discriminate against you because you have plants. Let him know you will speak to your local housing authority if he uses this as a reason to impose this condition on you.
