We have lots of gnats in our kitchen,no house plants, any suggestions on how to get rid of them?

Throw out your garbage every night. Cover fruit bowls with plastic wrap or keep fruit in the fridge...Keep potatoes in the dark in a cool room or in the fridge....in other words...deny them a food supply. They'll be gone in no time.

Keep your place clean and dry.

They can fester around a lot of items in the kitchen but mainly trash cans, fruit, potatoes, dirty washrags or sponges etc. I would check that your trash can is cleaned out. Good Luck.
Reply:there is a light trip that attract gnats and fly's at home depot
Reply:Take a jar lid or two, put upside down, and partially fill with vinegar and some liquid dish soap. This will trap the little buggers.
Reply:They have to be living somewhere. Check under and behind your stove and refrigerator for food. Wash out your garbage can and pour a mop bucket of bleach water down your drains.

Does your house have a crawl space? Moisture under a house can also be a source of gnats.
Reply:A real oregano plant, it'll drive them away. And you can pluck leaves off when you cook Italian! I have the same issue! If you can spray them with 409, go for it! it kills their scrawny butts dead.
Reply:If you have no house plants then it may be your produce. If you think that may be the cause, you need to wash all your veggies and fruits with a mild mixture of soap and water....even better, get the veggie wash they sell at any grocery store.
