What does it take to grow tea as a house plant?

I want to grow tea in my house. My plan is to grow tea from seeds in pots in my room. I will then harvest the leaves when the plants are full grown and ready. My questions are these: how long until the plants are fully grown? And what does it take to properly grow the tea?

Apparently, this is possible, grown outside in zone 8 and in lanetes or large pots in cooler climates. The tree needs to be 3 years old before you start harvesting.
