Amazingly, you could have that result--brown tips-- with either too much or too little water. Most plants should be dry to the touch when you water. Get a moisture meter, and learn what the optimum moisture is for your particular plants. I have several house plants that I water on alternate weeks. I have outdoor plants in pots that get watered daily.
