Can I plant a redwood burl in soil as a house plant? What soil is best.?
Redwood trees are IMMENSE trees in the natural state!!
They are NOT going to grow indoors very long!!
Where do you live? Can the redwood live outside? If so, this is the best alternative!!
Good Luck!!
Reply:Good Ole' Earl probably used up all the available nutrients in the burl. You can add a little liquid fertilizer to the water and maybe give more light, or you may be able to pot in soil to grow. I recommend a potting soil for acid-loving plants, such as those they sell for roses or azaleas. Cover burl halfway up with soil and keep moist until roots form.
Good luck!
Reply:The solution is obvious:
Pack up all your belongings and move to California with Earl.
I'll bet you'll both be happier in the long run - and so will your cat.
